Getting to Know our Team: Megan Silverman

My journey with QuisLex really began after I finished law school at the University of Chicago in 2011. Big Law didn’t feel like the place for me. I was just 25 and wanted to see more of the world and have an adventure. I came across a job at QuisLex in Hyderabad, India, on the UChicago job board and applied. A round of interviews later, I was hired and applying for my Indian visa. 

After almost five wonderful, adventurous, and action-packed years in India, I began to miss my family and my now-husband. It was time to start our life together. In 2016, QuisLex was not yet hiring litigation managers in the US, so I sadly parted ways with the team I loved. But I had a feeling it would not be the end of my QuisLex journey. I recently rejoined QuisLex as an Associate Director - 11 years since first joining! It's great to be back home among the family I found at the start of my legal career.

During the time I was away from QuisLex, I had opportunities to hone my technical e-discovery skills and build out a data breach review business. But I started missing the legal side and decided to put my law degree to use. I took a break, went back to school, and obtained my Environmental Law LLM degree from Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon. I graduated Summa Cum Laude and loved the experience of going back to school, reading, writing, and using a different part of my brain.

And now, I’m thrilled to be back at QuisLex. In my current role, I help bridge the cultural gap between India and the US and ensure that everyone is aligned and understands each other's perspectives. I work with some of the most intelligent, hardworking people that I have ever met – definitely not a crowd to be underestimated! My colleagues really care – they care about their work, about the company, about one another, about their families, and they care about the state of the world. 

When I worked in Hyderabad, every day my colleagues would come up to me and ask about me, how was my family, and most importantly, what did I eat for lunch! Our annual talent shows were not taken lightly. The amazing talent, commitment, and careful preparation on display for those translates to the work the QuisLex team does for our clients. It's great to be part of a team that genuinely cares about one another.

I'm also proud to work for a company that empowers people, especially women, to step into roles they might not have had access to otherwise. Over 60% of our management team is composed of women leaders, which is a great example for other companies and the world to see!

Megan Silverman is Associate Director, Legal Solutions at QuisLex. She has over a decade of experience overseeing e-discovery and review both in the US and India and has managed the end-to-end lifecycle for e-discovery and review for dozens of Fortune 100 companies and top law firms. Megan earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Chicago Law School and is admitted to the New York bar. During Covid lockdowns, Megan realized she had a lot of free time and went ahead and earned her Environmental Law LLM from Lewis & Clark Law School and her 200-hour yoga instructor certification. She has authored and co-authored articles for publications including Law.com and the ABA’s Business Law Today.
